Delia Let Me Down

I had a hankerin' for scones.

My all time favorite scones are cranberry orange scones from Starbucks, but who wants to pay $3.50 for a scone all the time? So I consulted Delia Smith, goddess of British cooking, for a recipe. I measured, I mixed, I cut in the butter, I zested my orange, I rolled and I cut with Delia encouraging me throughout the process - and my scones turned out like ultra-thick shortbread. Perhaps the self-rising flour I used had been in the freezer too long. Perhaps I rolled the dough out too much. Perhaps I just don't have a clue about baking! All well..... They tasted good at least.
