The Big Day Out

Years ago Tim and I went to a big Lalapalooza-style concert in Australia called The Big Day Out. Time passes, life changes, and now our big days out involve three under six and a train.

Sunday, 6/11/06 we visited Thomas the Tank Engine at the Midland Railway in Baldwin City, Kansas. Cousin Nathan and Aunt Deb accompanied Aidin & Eliot, Tim & me. We didn't tell the kids where we were going but when we got there, it was fair to say they were gob-smacked.

Not only did they get to have their picture taken with Thomas and ride on Thomas, but they also got Thomas tatoos! And to try on fire helmets!

And pretend to drive the fire truck!

The afternoon was capped with lunch and ice cream at Culvers, where Aidin will never again get to have an ice cream cone!
